There are soo many great shows coming up in the Lawrence/KC area. The Granada in Lawrence has a pretty solid line-up this fall.
Here's a list of ones I am hoping to go to and you all should check out at least one!
September 9-Blink 182
By far one of the best shows to start off the fall concert season. I've loved Blink since middle school. I have seen Angels and Airwaves, but seeing Blink would be the icing on the cake!
September 11-Kevin Devine
I love Kevin Devine. He is such a nice guy and a fantastic musician. I'm also excited for Kevin's opener, The Features. The Features are a great southern band that knows how to put on a bad ass show.
September 24- An Horse
Just listen to this video and you'll be a fan.
October 7-Minus the Bear
This will just be an amazingly fun show.
October 8-Taking Back Sunday
I feel the same way about this show as the Blink show...EPIC!
October 29- Thrice
The thing that makes this show more amazing than it is already going to be, is the opening band!!! O'Brother! O'Brother is a band out of Atlanta who is very talented and has a bright future ahead of them. This is probably one of my favorite videos and songs from them.
November 14- City and Colour
I saw them at Lolla and they were really, really good. The lead singer, Dallas Green, was also the lead singer of the band Alexisonfire. Two totally different ends of the music spectrum. I definitely am more of a City and Colour fan, but both are still great.

LOLLAPALOOZA!!!
Two weeks ago I had the privilege of going to Chicago for the 3-Day music festival, Lollapalooza. Words cannot describe how amazing it was. Memories I made on that trip will definitely last me a life time.
There are so many things at Lolla that make for an amazing experience. Here are my top Three.
Well of course the music is number ONE. The smaller bands are just as great as the big headliners. I was able to check GirlTalk off my concert bucket list and yes, I did dance my butt off! I also saw the Foo Fighters which was a dream come true and I have no idea why they weren't on my bucket list.
The band I was most excited about was My Morning Jacket and they did not disappoint! They are so talented and know how to play their instruments. Some bands try to go into extended musical breaks in the middle of songs and butcher it, but not these guys. They make everything sound amazing and smooth. Bands could learn a thing or two from them.
It started down poring during Cage the Elephant's set, but that did not stop us. They are great live band and embraced the rain and experience. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I just love how music brings everyone together.
Number Two the FOOD!! I love trying new food and I could do it right there at the festival. They care about the food just as much as they do the bands. Plus it helps that Master Chef Graham Elliot is in charge of that. Btw, tried his lobster corndog, sounds strange, but it was EXCELLENT!
The third thing is that it is in the heart of Chicago. Chicago is such an amazing, diverse, beautiful city. Being able to experience great music in the middle of the city with a gorgeous skyline as the backdrop is phenomenal.
If you are ever given the chance to go, TAKE IT!!
This link has great reviews about the performances. One to read is about Cee Lo Green's performance. It was beyond HORRIBLE. I understand people like to do cover songs, but a hour long set full of them? No thank you! His out fit didn't help him out any either.
